Goose Hunt with Molt Gear Team
Join Three Time World Live Goose Calling Champion and the creator of The Goose Society , Scott Threinen, on a hunt this fall in the famed “Home of the Giants” area of Rochester, Minnesota.
Instructional Goose Hunts
All Instructional Molt Gear Team hunts for the 2010 season will take place in Rochester, MN, which is our headquarters. Rochester holds anywhere from 15,000 to 40,000 Giant Canadian Geese throughout the year starting in early November to Late December. Heated Silver Lake, which stays open all year is the main attraction for them. Some also might be looking for good health care at the Mayo Clinic which is no more then a half a mile away.
Instructional Goose Hunts will take place in leased fields around the Rochester Refuge and more then likely be in pitted fields…..unless we find something hot outside the line! Hunting is only a small part of it though. Each day the Molt Gear Team and I will be going over everything from decoys, decoy spreads, concealment, flagging, movement and hunting different weather conditions. This will all take place out in the field as much as possible. A break for lunch will follow and then its chalk talk, (which is the white erase board you seen in The Goose Society) we will cover the topics again in different situations. Pretty much anything you can think of will be covered.
After that is calling lessons with the Molt Gear Team and myself. We will be going over everything from hand position, air presentation, using your hands, building speed, creating different geese, and of course going over any note you may be having trouble with. This is a opportunity for you to get hands on calling instruction with the Molt Gear Team.
